To the Man, the Myth, The Legend

Today I am featuring the Classic Man stamp set by The Project Bin.  This is such a versatile set for masculine cards.  This set includes a Happy Birthday and a Father's Day greeting along with several greetings that can be used for any occasion.

This sentiment makes me giggle because around here it pretty much sums up my backpacking wanderer!  His coworkers and friends all know if he has a few days off, rain or shine, he's probably in the woods.

I had fun creating this with a paper stack I purchased last year.  I used the SC693 sketch for my design and cut cards from the paper to embellish the main space.  I added plaid paper to the three mini cards to add continuity to the focal point.

My husband's birthday is this week so I was delighted when I realized this set included a Happy Birthday greeting.  I stamped the Happy Birthday Greeting and layered it on more of the fun hiking trails paper on the inside of the card.

Here's a look at the entire stamp set!

Inspired by a White Cat

There are so many reasons to love Saturdays and one of them is the weekly Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers!  Stacy is our hostess this week and she chose the Smithsonian Institute for IC646.  This cool site has a "Collections" category which is super fun to browse. They even have a CAT collection!  Oh, my!!!   I was smitten by the White Cat painted by Gertrude Abercrombie, my search for inspiration was over.

For my card, I sponged Memento Nautical blue for the floor angling a piece of paper as a mask to indicate where the floor and wall meet.  With a much lighter touch, I sponged the same color ink as the floor on a piece of cardstock, then die cut a door and a piece for the wainscoting.  The blue door ended up looking a little flat so I highlighted the door and the wainscoting with Inktense Watercolor Pencils.  The kitty is a die cut and I added a bit of shadow behind her with Copics.

I believe the inside will say "Sitting Here Thinking Of You" but I am waiting to decide who I will send this to before I stamp a greeting.

I hope you will hop over to Splitcoaststampers and join us for daily challenges!

Cuddle and Kind Inspiration

I am the hostess this weekend for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.  Everyone is welcome at Splitcoaststampers!  It's a free site with daily challenges and you can create your own gallery!  You can check out my challenge at IC645.

I chose the sweetest site to inspire our art this week.  I was attracted to the site itself.  Lots of white space, soft blue banners, and adorable photos but that's just the beginning.  This company was started by a family whose mission is to feed hungry children!  The purchase of one doll = 10 meals purchased.  Hop on over and check out this sweet site, Cuddle and Kind

I chose THIS adorable image as my inspiration.

This sweet stamp set is from Stampendous and was given to me by my dear friend JaneenK.
There are a collection of photos under Everest the Penguin.  I took inspiration from the baby blanket but also the pretty wall art.   Everest the Penguin is wearing a tan winter hat so I colored my penguin's hat in shades of tan and I colored the sweater to match.  This stamp set is darling and includes dies for the hat and sweater as well as the penguin.  I stamped the penguin but die cut the hat and sweater so no masking or fussy cutting was needed.  I love that!    I loved all the white spare in the wall art photo so for my card, I kept the colors simple and framed the scene with a white rectangle frame.

Friendship -The Project Bin

I have noticed that cross stitch on cards is popping up!  There are stamps that look like cross stitch and dies so that you can actually cross stitch a pattern on your card. I loved to cross stitch when my eyes were young!  I used a very fine material because of course I have to make everything as difficult for myself as I can!  I don't have many pieces because I gave so many away but what I do have are striking.  I just don't have the patience or the eyes for it anymore.

I came across this paper in my stash when my daughter asked for some paper to make a collage for a school project and thought it would be perfect for a friendship card and right on trend with the cross stitch card craze!  The design idea came from SC691 at Splitcoaststampers.

For today's card I am featuring a sentiment from one of my favorite sets #bff  by The Project Bin#bff is one of my favorite friendship stamp sets.

I am entering this in Word Art Wednesday's anything goes challenge!  The Project Bin is one of the sponsors this week.  The challenge is almost over buy you still have today to play so I hope you will check out the Word Art Wednesday Challenge.

Light it up Blue - World Autism Day

April is National Autism Month and yesterday was World Autism Awareness Day.  All around the world "light it up blue" events were held.  My card today was inspired by Autism Speaks which is an organization that raises autism awareness and supports families.  Their symbol is a blue puzzle piece so I went with blue for my card today.

I originally had a different card design in mind when I was creating this card.  I stamped and watercolored the heart but the overall card design did not make me happy so I used the heart die from the In My Heart stamp set by The Project Bin to die cut the heart from the original card.  I love that the heart die was designed to work with both the In My Heart stamp set and Spencer's Set.   I then used a rectangle frame die cut and sponged it with Faded Jeans Distress Oxide ink.  I added water to the frame and dabbed it away with a soft cloth.   Next, I added dots and doodles at the corners with a black ink pen and I added more ink to the corners.  I fell in love with this technique when I saw Linda's beautiful card at Splitcoaststampers.

The stamp set I am featuring today was inspired by a very special young man.  Denise shares a part of his story today so I hope you will stop by The Project Bin Blog post today!

Veronica Zalis has organized a HUGE blog hop to bring awareness and celebrate the families affected by ASD.  I hope you will check out the 2018 Stamping for Autism Awareness Blog Hop.

”A child with autism is not ignoring you, they are simply waiting for you to enter their world.” — Autism Treatment Center of America

I love that sentiment.  Our son was diagnosed in elementary school.  He was high functioning but struggled in many ways and was different enough to be bullied to the point that he carries the scars to this day.  He is now in his second year of college and I couldn't be prouder.  I love listening to his stories and entering his world!

I am also playing along with this week's FS582 challenge.  Jane has a lovely card with blue hearts found HERE.

Feline Happy

Happy Caturday!!!

Saturdays are my happy day.  I love hostessing or just joining in with the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers on Saturdays.  This week Anne has chosen Signals to inspire us for the IC643 challenge.  Right off the bat I found two fabulous kitty inspirations.  Funny thing I had a stamped image and stamp that was perfect for both inspiration pieces and they were both given to me by my sweet friend Jan.

I ended up choosing the Personalized Cat Print for my inspiration.

For my sentiment, I chose one from the Sophisticated Sentiments rubber stamp set by Red Rubber Designs.

This week Simon Says Stamp Wednesday blog is an Anything Goes Challenge with a showcase of Stampendous stamps.  This striking kitty is a Stampendous image called Feline Curious.

Thanks so very much for stopping by today!!!!

Love and Prayers

Happy Tuesday everyone!
Today I am playing in multiple challenges featuring a beautiful sentiment from The Project Bin.
I chose one of the encouraging sentiments from the Kinda Sorta stamp set and framed it with one of the frame stamps included in the set.

With my card, I am playing along with two Splitcoaststampers challenges.    Over the weekend Splitcoaststampers held a fun VirtualStamp Night event.  I was unable to play at the time but we have until 10pm on April 2nd to play along and upload our cards!  I am entering this card in Lisa's MAR18VSNL challenge to Pop it Up!  I popped up my flowers to meet the requirement of the challenge.

I am also celebrating this week's Featured Stamper Ponygirl2. I chose THIS card for my inspiration.

Precious Baby

Brenda has chosen a wonderful site to inspire us this week for the IC642 Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.

I found inspiration in this pretty Draper and Euro Suitcases.

This card celebrates a very LITTLE life.  He was born just 2 lbs.  He is home now with mom, dad and sisters weighing just 5 lbs and thriving.  It was sweet to be able to see him and enjoy a fun baby shower thrown by his auntie!

I do believe this is my all-time favorite baby image.  It just tugs at the heart!  The image is A Mother's Arms designed by Angie Blom for Unity Stamp Co. and the sentiment is from a Phyllis Harris kit by Unity Stamp Co.,  Room In My Heart

He is Risen!

I have truly enjoyed every image in the Spring Zen stamp set by The Project Bin!  I simply love coloring the images.  I had so much fun with the tulips last week, I decided to use the same color combo on the cross this week.  I just love pink so why not indulge!

As with all of the sentiments from The Project Bin this sentiment has a gorgeous font and a beautiful meaning.  We might celebrate by getting dressed up, hand out candy and have a nice Easter lunch but the real reason we set this day apart is that Christ the Lord is RISEN!!!!!  Jesus didn't stay on that cross!!  He has risen!

John 5:24“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

Now that IS good news!!!!

Stand Out!

I just love Saturdays!  It's the one day of the week, I get seven hours of sleep! At our house, most Saturdays begin slow and easy.  It's also my favorite day because I am one of the hostesses for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers! This week Stacy chose Aquarium of the Pacific to inspire us for the IC641 Challenge.

I chose THIS cool photo for my inspiration.
I found the perfect coloring page and colored just one frog bright blue.  The Dr. Seuss sentiment in Spencer's Set from The Project Bin was just the right fit for my striking blue frog.
